8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
At the request of the Corporation, the University's highest governing board, an as yet unchosen University administrator will recommend action on fallout shelters. The administrative official will base his suggestions on possible alternatives presented by a report of the Committee on Civil Defense.
The report itself advised against the construction of any separate fallout shelters or blast shelters, but advocated the use of existing facilities such as tunnels connecting University buildings for fallout protection in case of nuclear attack.
The report is still confidential, but President Pusey said yesterday it might be released to the public in the near future.
