WGBH, Boston's educational TV station, may refuse the use of Loeb Drama Center's experimental theatre this summer, Hartford N. Gunn, Jr. '48, General Manager of WGBH, said yesterday.
"One of our problems," he stated, "is to find a temporary location for a longer period of time." He added that the station had received offers extending through winter.
When told of the pending decision, George E. Hamlin, Jr., assistant director at Loeb, said that the "chances of them using Loeb in winter are zero." He called winter television production in Loeb "a use it wasn't intended for."
"It won't disrupt our plans," Hamlin commented, "If WGBH refuses the offer."
Gunn would not reveal other studios under consideration "since the whole thing is still up in the air." A final decision is expected at the end of the week.
