Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Only two men scored for the varsity track team Saturday at New York's Madison Square Garden, but one of them, Ted Bailey, exploded for a first-place effort. Bailey, by 35 lbs. the smallest man in the weight-throw field, took first with a heave of 63 ft., 5 in., his best never in competition.
Bailey broke the IC4A record held by Jud Sage of Navy. Larry Mengel of Army was second behind Bailey, and George Desnoyers of B.C. took third.
With an effort well below his best, Rick DeLone finished fourth in the shot put at 54 ft., as N.Y.U.'s Gary Gubner unloaded a 64 ft., 31/2 in. toss for first.
Captain Mark Mullin won his trial heat in the mile in 4:19.7, but was out of the money in the final. Vic Zwolak of Villanova finished first in the title race in 4:09.3, followed by John Reilly of Georgetown.
The Crimson sent only five men to the IC4A's, because of thesis problems and general weariness.
