Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller of New York will give the first of three Godkin Lectures on "The Future of Federalism" tonight at 8 p.m. in Sanders Theater. Admission is free, but seats will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

For those unable to fight their way into Sanders, WGBH-TV will rebroadcast each lecture at 9 p.m. Gov. Rockefeller will speak tonight, tomorrow, and Friday nights.

The Governor's press secretary has requested that there be no question period after the lectures and has refused to schedule public press conferences with local newsmen. These steps have been taken to ensure that political issues do not obscure the academic nature of the Godkin lectures.

Rockefeller will arrive at Logan airport this afternoon and will motor immediately to President Pusey's house in Cambridge.
