YDCHR RETAINS GREENE, MARTIN

At 8:30 last night the Young Democratic Club of Harvard and Radcliffe opened nominations for the office of president. By 8:31, Harry F. Greene '63 of Quincy House and Scarsdale, N.Y., had been declared president for his second term.

The fight for first vice-President lasted almost as long. About 50 seconds after his nomination, Craig Smith '64 was declared the winner. In the only contest of the evening, G. Marshall Moriarty '64 accused Edwin M. Martin '63 of Quincy House and Washington, D.C. of having completely altered the office of second Vice-President, giving emphasis to national and state programs at the expense of the individual members. Martin was eventually reflected.

After the unopposed elections for secretary and treasurer, the club voted to support union shops and U.N. bonds, and reaffirmed its censure of the HUAC.

Said former club President Gary M. Little '61-4, "The meetings seem to get longer, with fewer real contests for club leadership."
