Combined Charities drive donations dropped for the second consecutive evening last night. Incomplete returns put last night's receipts at $2100, the lowest total so far.
With Radcliffe, Quincy, and Adams figures unreported, drive officers estimated a total of $2500 for the evening. "This means we have to get $4500 tomorrow night to reach our goal," one official said. "We're hopeful we will be able to do it, but it is going to be very close."
Total donations to the Combined Charities drive now stand at $22,500, $4500 short of the $27,000 goal.
Last night's donations put both Claverly and Lowell House above their contribution goals, with Winthrop approaching its quota. Winthrop led the house contributions tonight with $340. Lowell House followed with $300, then Eliot, still far below its quota, with $200.
