The 1962 Harvard-Radcliffe Combined Charities Drive has exceeded its $27,000 goal by over two thousand dollars.
According to John R.Taylor '65, drives chairman, there has already been $29,033 collected, with contributions of commuters, pledges, and process from the freshman dance still to come. Last year, Harvard alone netted $24,000 with the assistance of a last-minute emergency donation. This year, the University collected more than $25,000.
Among the outstanding contributors were Radcliffe, which jumped from last year's depths of $1200 to an impressive $4600, and Lowell House, which collected $2830, more than $500 over its goal. The only other Houses to reach their goals were Claverly with $937 (nearly $200 over its goal) and Winthrop, whose $2215 was $15 over.
In the contributing cellar was the Yard. The freshman, with $5551, fell almost a thousand dollars short of their goal.
