Unbeaten Eliot Team Defeats Winthrop, 7-0

Eliot House moved into a first-place tie with Leverett in House football yesterday afternoon by scoring a narrow 7-0 victory over Winthrop. The two prospective champions, each of them undefeated and claiming six victories, face a showdown at Soldier's Field on Wednesday.

The Elephants' lone touchdown against Winthrop was scored in the final minute of the game, when Andy Shea caught a 20-yard pass from quarterback Pete Wood. Elliot Topkins kicked the extra point.

Early in the contest Eliot advanced to their opponents' ten-yard line, and then lost the ball on a fumble. Winthrop monopolized the ball throughout the third quarter, conceding it to the Elephants only twice, and probably gained more yardage against the Eliot squad than any other team this season.
