A Harvard senior was found dead yesterday afternoon in a washroom on the third floor of the Mallinckrodt chemistry laboratories. The student was identified as Milton Herzog '63 of Lowell House and Ontario, Canada.
Herzog had been working in a Chemistry 20 laboratory on the second floor of Mallinckrodt and apparently left his desk feeling unwell. All Chemistry 2 lab sections, which meet in a room adjacent to the washroom, were cancelled at 3:30 p.m. following discovery of the body.
Officials of the Chemistry Department have dismissed the possibility that Herzog's death might be related to anything he was working with in the Chem 20 lab. A spokesman for the University Health Services said that the death was probably due to natural causes.
