As if everything else weren't enough, the Harvard rifle team wend and beat its Yale counterpart Saturday, 1401-1394. The maximum team score is 1500 points.

Frank Murphy of Harvard led both firing squads with a one-man score of 239. Each man fires tens shots in each of three positions--prone, kneeling, and standing--for a maximum of 300 points.

In the match, held at the M.I.T. range, the contestants used 22 caliber guns at a distance of 50 feet from the target. Each team may use up to ten men; Harvard used eight, Yale nine. Only the top five scores count.
