The Undergraduate Council of Princeton University has gone on record against "any proposal that would demand coats and ties" in the school's central dining hall.
"I don't think the university has a right to tell people when to wear coats and ties," commented Rand F. Jack, president of the group. "The question is outside the province of the university."
The Daily Princetonian, however, did not reveal who, if anyone, had proposed that coats and ties be required.
