Harvard Show Takes Award in Competition

Harvard musical, Lute, Flute, Lyre Sackbut, has won third place in a competition sponsored by Broadcast Music, Inc., to stimulate college composers and lyricists.

Written by Arthur Morey '63 of Lowell House and Portland, Ore., the play competed with 34 other college shows in the contest.

Last place and $1500 were awarded to university of Michigan musical entitled Land Ho! The Juilliard School of Music production The Wildbirds came in second, and Tour de Force, presented by the Triangle Club of Princeton, tied Lute, Flute for third.

Morey's work was reviewed by the CRIMSON last spring as "the least sophisticated show ever produced at Harvard big, fat fluffhall."
