A Dwight D. Eisenhower scholarship fund for Harvard graduate students has been established under the will of Dr. William A. Hinton, Harvard's first Negro professor. The fund, not yet complete, may eventually amount to $75,000.
Hinton, a bacteriologist and immunologist, devised the widely-used Hinton text for syphilis and taught Harvard medical students for 1918 until his retirement 1950.
