The Harvard-Radcliffe Liberal Union has endorsed the Independent candidacy of H. Stuart Hughes for U.S. Senate.

The HRLU's endorsement statement, approved by its executive committee last Sunday, stresses Hughes' domestic programs for education, medicare, the 35-hour week, and similar social and economic questions. Hughes's foreign policy suggestions were not explicitly approved in the Liberal Union's statement, but he was praised for a "critical approach to the arms race."
