8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
The junior varsity football team, playing against a team which had only 14 men dressed for the game, managed a 20-8 victory over Tufts yesterday.
Bill Humenuk, number two quarter-back on the varsity, led the numerically superior Crimson forces. Humenuk set up Harvard's first score with a pass to Curt Lemkau covering 70 yards in the first quarter. On the last play of the first quarter, Humenuk carried the ball himself for a second touchdown.
The final Crimson tally came in the third quarter when Ron Cloutier carried the ball three times in succession, covering 30 yards before plowing into the end zone. John Hartranft succeeded in two of three extra point attempts.
The victory was the first of the season for coach Norman Shepard's charges. The J.V. lost to Brown in their game last week, 29-18.
