A powerful freshman football squad soundly defeated Tufts here yesterday, 39 to 0.
Each of three units accounted for at least one touchdown, and Roger Nobak booted a 25-yard field goal.
Third unit quarterback Jerry Beasley led the Crimson to two last quarter scores, handing off to Leo Swift for the first tally, and running 16 yards himself on an end sweep for the second. Each TD was followed by a two point pass conversion by Beasley.
Nobak's kick came late in the third quarter after the Crimson had driven to the Jumbo 15, but failed to score because of penalties.
A thoroughly ontclassed Tufts offense threatened only once, when Jumbo quarterback Gerry Grossman ran a succession of end sweeps for a 30 yard gain. The threat ended, however, when end Bill Tedrow intercepted one of Grossman's passes.
