Varsity Booters to Battle Amherst

Coach Bruce Munro's varsity soccer team takes on Amherst today at II a.m. on the Business School said. Despite the fact that this will be the Crimson's third game in seven days, the squad is remarkably healthy. Only Emmanual "Mama" Boye is ailing, with a slight ankle injury.

Amherst should not pose too much difficulty for Munro's highly touted varsity. Center forward Chris Ohiri is averaging better than 2.6 goals a game and the varsity defense has proven itself sufficiently stingy in past outings to handle senior, broke up plays almost at will the Amherst forward line.

Especially surprising on defense has been the work of goalie Wally Whitney who has done better than anyone could have expected him to do in his first real season of varsity competition.

Whitney has received more ample support from fullbacks Terry Winslow and Lou Williams whose brilliant play could earn him a berth on the all-Ivy team.

At halfback, Munro can expect solid performances from Dave Clapp, Boye, and captain Tony Davies. Davies, a 6 ft. 1 in against Tufts last week and should be able to supply Ohiri with all the passes he needs.
