Fellowships Will Aid Conservation Studies

The University has established a new fellowship program for the study of the conservation of natural resources. Bullard Fellowships, one-year research fellowships in forest resources, have been made available for administrators and scholars of forestry.

The fellowships are named for Charles Bullard, whose sister, Miss Catherine Bullard, left half of her estimate as a memorial to her brother's in forest in forestry.

The fellowships are to aid men in private forestry in advanced research and study, according to Don K. Price, Dean of the Graduate School of Public administration, who is chairman of the committee to award the fellowships. The objective in fixing the size of the stipened, which can go an high as $15,000, is to minimize the financial loss to any recipient of taking off a year for research and study," commented Price.

Paul C. Mangelsdorf, Hugh M. Raup, and Dean Stanley F. Teele will also serve on the committee.
