Pats Sign Hart To Trial Pact

PETE HART, captain of Harvard's Ivy co-championship football team last fall, has signed a conditional contract to play for the professional Boston Patriots in the American Football League next year. He will report for pre-season training in Amherst on July 20 to try out for end position; if he survives the cuts before the first exhibition game in mid-August, he will fulfill a long-standing private goal.

"If I don't try out for a pro team now," Hart says, "I know I'd be kicking myself for the rest of my life."
