President Pusey confirmed this week that he has received a letter of resignation from Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. '38 as professor of History. Schlesinger, now Special Assistant to President Kennedy, had taken a leave of absence from the University, which expires Feb. 1, and was obligated under Faculty regulations to submit his resignation or return as as an active member.
Schlesinger, upon his leaving his Washington position, would be eligible for a Faculty appointment under the usual procedures.
