DOJ Sues Boston and Mayor Michelle Wu ’07 Over Sanctuary City Policy
James Vorenberg '48, Boston Lawyer, will become Professor of Law effective July 1, Erwin N. Griswold, Dean of the Law School, announced recently. Vorenberg received his A.B. degree magna cum laude, and took his L.L.B. magna cum laude in 1961 from Harvard. He was president of the Law Review.
Dr. Howard Ulfelder '32 has been named the first Joe Vincent Meigs Professor of Gynecology at the Medical School. Since 1955, Dr. Ulfelder has been Clinical Professor of Gynecology at the Medical School, Chief of Staf at the Vincent Memorial Hospital, and Chief of Gynecology at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Four University language instructors will become assistant professors on July 1. In French Language and Literature, the appointments include Fredric R. Jameson, Alvin V. Labat, and Maurice Z. Shroder. Theodore M. Andersson will become assistant professor of German.
Philip J. McNiff will become the first Archibald Cary Coolidge Bibliographer of Harvard University, according to Paul H. Buck, Director of the University Library. McNiff is now Associate Librarian for Resources and Acquisitions.
