Fresh from a 21-13 loss at Cornell Saturday, the wrestling team will take on a Rutgers varsity which Crimson coach Bob Pickett describes as "very, very strong" this afternoon at 3 p.m. in the indoor Athletic Building. Rutgers has already defeated Yale and Princeton, and has lost only to Oklahoma.
Rutgers is particularly well off in the lower weights. The Scarlet Knights' best man, and captain, is Jim Janish, who will meet Harvard captain George Doub at 130 lbs.
Besides Doub, Pickett plans to use basically the same men he has relied on so far this winter: Pete Keeler at 123 lbs., Jay Gaffney at 137, Bill Smith at 147, Bob Kolodney at 157, Fred Peirera at 167, Bob Ballantine at 177, Dave Groseclose at 191, and Bob Fastov at heavyweight.
Against Cornell, the team started out by forfeiting five points because of an injury suffered by J. C. Von Helms the night before during practice in Syracuse. With Von Helms unable to wrestle at 147, the Crimson was still able to collect 13 points on wins by Doub, Peirera, and Paul Schnitz, and a draw by Fastov.
