WHRB-FM GETS APPROVAL TO RESUME BROADCASTING

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Twelve hours behind schedule, WHRB-FM began broadcasting at 8 p.m. last night. After a delay of more than the prescribed 10-day waiting period, official notice of program test authority arrived from the FCC in Washington.

Program test authority is temporary permission to broadcast until a new license is granted. WHRB-FM had to renew its license after it moved its antenna to the top of the Holyoke Health Center.

The new antenna, according to a station representative, is "the tallest thing in Cambridge." It is 100 feet higher than the old tower, and increases WHRB-FM's power to a full kilowatt.
