RPI and St. Lawrence were chosen yesterday to represent the East in the NCAA hockey tournament in Denver next week.
The team were chosen by the Eastern Selection Committee made up of Brown University athletic director Paul MacKesey and coaches Harry Cleverly of Boston University and Tom Iccleston of Providence College.
The two representatives of the West will be decided this weekend in the annual four-team playoff tournament. Denver finished first in the Western hockey League, followed by Minnesota--which won its last six games to take second place from Michigan.
The Crimson sextet, third in Eastern rankings last week behind RPI and St. Lawrence, was removed from consideration for the tournament for the second consecutive year by the Faculty Committee on Athletics last month.
