WASHINGTON(UPI)--in his news conference last night President Kennedy referred to Laos as Lah-ahs. Reporters asking the questions called it Louse, one syllable. A call to the Laotian embassy brought this response from the charge disaffaire:

"No! No! No! Not lay'ahs. Louise as in house."
