HYRC REJECTS 'ADV ANCE'

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard Young Republican Club resolved Tuesday to withhold support from Advance, a new magazine of Republican conservatism.

In the resolution the HYRC disclaimed "any official connection with any group publishing or acting under the name Republican unless specifically authorized by the Executive Committee." Hugh W. Barber, Jr. '62, president of the club, explained, "this is not a stand contrary to Advance, it's just that the HYRC does not endorse the magazine."

At the same time the Young Republicans appealed to all Republicans "to work within the party framework to build up the party for future elections."
