I would like to take this opportunity of alleviating the severity of Professor B. J. Whiting's quoted figure of 60 per cent passing English 115 (at mid-year). In fact, 68 per cent obtained a grade of 0 or higher. What he did not mention was that 52 per cent of the class received honor grades. Stanley J. Kahrl '53,   Teaching Fellow In English.
