Radcliffe will offer in January a special course designed for wives of business executives. The purpose of the program, "The Understanding of Management," is to acquaint women with some of the functions of a business organization.
The six-week course is an attempt to link the college more closely to the business community. It will be directed by the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration, a one-year graduate program which has provided professional business education for more than 1,000 young women.
Following two weeks of orientation to general problems of management, separate courses will be offered in Financial and Marketing Management. Either section may be taken alone, but the women will be encouraged to take both. They will also be required to spend several hours a week in individual preparation. There are no pre-requisites in either formal education or experience for the course.
According to Mrs. Christine L. Hobart, director of the program, "Radcliffe under-took this program because of the unusual opportunity it provides to explore a new facet of the demand for continuing education."
