FACULTY APPROVES DESIGN FOR COLLEGE'S DIPLOMAS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Faculty approved the final design for future College diplomas at its meeting Tuesday. Drawn up by a committee headed by Mason Hammond, Pope Professor of the Latin Language and Literature, the new format will almost definitely be accepted by the Board of Overseers Monday.

Although the diplomas will continue to be in English, the wording will be changed from that of last spring. The size and design will also be altered, but the committee still plans to have the diplomas printed, rather than engraved.

The Faculty broke from tradition last spring by authorizing de-Latinized, printed, small-size diplomas. A few small disturbances resulted.
