Eddie Meehan, Mark Mullin and Ed Hamlin are the three men to watch in Harvard's cross country meet at Brown today. If they come through, the varsity harriers should edge out a strong Brown team.
But the meet will be close. Farley and Jones, Brown's first two men, outran all Harvard runners but Mullin last year. And the Brown team's familiarity with their complicated home course will be a factor in their favor.
Still, assuming that no Harvard men get lost in the woods and that Hamlin manages not to get stomach cramp, Harvard is a slight favorite.
In the Freshman meet, Brown has the edge, but not by much. Harvard and Brown have the two best freshman teams in the Ivy League, and either one could win today.
