Democrats Take Lead For 17 Governor Races

As predicted, the Democrats took the lead in the race for 27 governorships how held by 14 Democrats and 13 Republicans. They had definitely elected 10 governors, to the Republicans' eight. Moreover, Democrats were leading in 7 undecided contests, and the Republicans only 2 at 4:30 a.m.

Democratic candidates unseated the lead in Illinois, North Dakota, Deleware, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. Republicans toppled Democrats in Kansas and Massachusetts.

The other Democratic victories were Arkansas, Florida, Minnesota, Missouri and Texas. Other Republican triumph were lowa, Maine, New Hampshire Utah, Vermont, and Arizona.

At last reports, Democrats were leading in Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin. Republicans led in Montana and New Mexico.

In Puerto Rico, Governor Munoz Marin won his expected election by a comfortable margin, despite the oppositions of Puerto Rican bishops.
