Indian to Inaugurate World' Religion Center

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Sir Sarrepalli Radhakrishnan, vice-President of India, will inaugurate the University's new Center for the Study of World Religions today, with a speech on "Fellowship of the Spirit." The Center was completed this fall.

The residents of the Center will be able to exchange knowledge and opinion over a longer period than conferences on religion usually provide. The 18 students will also have access to University libraries, and will use the facilities for advanced study of existing departments.

Residents will probably be students engaged in doctoral or poet-doctoral programs, and will include visiting scholars and lecturers in various religions.

The same anonymous donor who in 1958 endowed the University's first Professor ship in World Religions (now held by the Reverend Robert H. L. Slater) provided funds for the Center.
