Fire broke out in a Mt. Auburn St. apartment about 1 a.m. last night. A mattress in the bedroom of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gringold, 115 Mt. Auburn St. burst into flames and left the residents with no place to sleep.

Two Cambridge ladder companies rushed to the scene and doused the flames, but were unable to determine the cause of the fire.
