Although he has not announced his decision officially, there is good indication that U.S. Rep. Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr. of Cambridge will seek the Democratic nomination for governor of Massachusetts in 1960.

Representatives Lawrence F. Felony and George W. Spartichino, O'Neill's chief backers, have already mailed 5000 pamphlets to potential delegates to the June convention stating that he "will be a great Democratic governor."
