Thomas D. Bolles, Director of Athletics, will take a leave of absence for the Fall Term next year to attend the summer Olympics in Rome. Bolles was notified during the Christmas recess that his request to travel abroad with his wife and daughter had been granted by the Corporation.
He will not leave Cambridge, however, until after the American rowing season, the Harvard-Yale meet, and I.R.A. regattas. President Pusey is expected to announce a replacement soon for the Athletic Director from August to February.
The Athletic Department also learned in December that F. Alexander Bell, end coach of the varsity football team for three years, will leave his post to become head coach at his alma mater, Villanova.
