An undefeated Cornell wrestling team rode roughshod to a 33-7 victory over the Crimson varsity Saturday. The defeat at Cornell opened Harvard's Ivy League season.
There were only two bright spots in the match for the Harvard squad. In the heavyweight class, senior Bob Wynne pinned Cornell's Dan Conover. This was the season's first match for Wynne, who has been kept from play and practice with a bad knee injury. In the 191-pound class, Ted Robbins drew Don Jane, a junior. Robbins, a senior, thus retains his undefeated record.
In all the other classes Cornell wrestlers won with little trouble. The Big Red has an impressive 4-0 win-loss record so far, with two Ivy League triumphs under its belt.
The Amherst match, scheduled for today, has been cancelled.
