'Oh Dad, Poor Dad' Returns Next Month For Six Showings

The producers and directors of "Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Momma's Hung You in the closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad," have decided to continue the show's run with six performances early next month. Arthur Kopit's farce will reopen on Feb. 4.

According to director Michael B. Ritchie '60, "record breaking crowds and a 320 per cent return on the original investment" prompted the staff to extend its run. Numerous difficulties, including that fact that Maria Livanos, who plays a "cut-rate whore," has run out of 1 o'clock permissions, precluded additional performances during reading period.

Plans to take the show to New Haven are still indefinite. Ritchie would prefer not to produce ODPB as part of the Yale Drama Festival because this would force an elimination of scenery and curtailment of the script to fit into the one-hour time limit.

Several New York producers have expressed interest in the show, which received favorable reviews and extensive publicity. Definite plans for a professional production have not yet crystallized.
