Lacrosse Squad Vanquished, 20-3

A far superior Princeton lacrosse team trounced the Crimson by a resounding 20-3 margin at Princeton Saturday. The outclassed varsity was further hampered by the absence of star defenseman Lanny Keyes and first string midfielder Dick Parks.

All Crimson scoring came in the fourth period. Jerry Pyle accounted for the first goal on an assist from Nick Lamont. Pyle then passed to Dave Bohn for the second mark, and Bohn made the final score on another assist by Lamont.

Mike Adair, who has been a substitute most of the season, turned in his best performance of the year. In the mid-field, Dave Burch, Tadgh Sweeney, and Charlie Devens also looked quite good. Chris Stone and Nate Howe II struggled valiantly at goalie but were inundated with shots.

Played before a large crowd under overcast skies, the game quickly developed into a runaway. The Tigers seized upon every varsity mistake, and turned every pass into a goal. They demonstrated amply why they were Ivy League champions last year and are rated a Class A lacrosse team, while the Crimson is Class B. Princeton handled the ball brilliantly around the goal making shot after shot until finally scoring.
