Police Captain Matthew J. Toohy warned students yesterday that a recent outbreak of thefts in the Houses makes it advisable for room doors to be locked at all times.

Toohy said that over the past two weeks approximately six thefts had been reported from unlocked rooms while the occupants were asleep. He said that persons from outside the University were suspected.
