New Lecture Hall will officially become A. Lawrence Lowell Hall tomorrow. On the 50th anniversary of President Lowell's taking office, New Lec will be named in honor of its donor.
Following renovation of the structure, a special ceremony will be held in October in the Hall to commemorate the anniversary of the President's inauguration. A tablet on the building will then bear a reminder that the hall is no longer New Lecture Hall.
The building has been "new" since 1902, when Lowell, then a professor, and his wife donated it anonymously.
