Freshman Baseball Squad Crushes B.U., 9-1; Williams Hurls Crimson to Fifth Straight Win

The Yardling baseball team yesterday ripped apart the Boston University freshmen, 9 to 1, at Braves Field, as it lengthened its winning streak to five games. Roy Williams, who thus far this year has distinguished himself as an outstanding slugger, took to the mound and gave a very creditable performance, toying with a no hitter for six innings.

Although the Terriers picked up a run in the eighth to spoil his shut out, Williams limited them to six hits, striking out six. This was the same B.U. team which earlier this spring beat the varsity, 1 to 0.

The Crimson received the benefit of seven B.U. errors which resulted in three unearned runs. Center fielder Tom Boone and second baseman Jim Dwinell helped to amass the remainder with two safeties apiece. In the first inning a walk, an error, and singles by Phil Bernstein and Williams netted two runs, which turned out to be enough to win.
