Sailing Team Wins Brown Regatta

Sailing to first place honors in both divisions, the Varsity sailing team yesterday triumphed over six other schools in the New England Varsity Dinghy Championship Eliminations at Brown.

Co-skippers Hanson Robbins and Carlos Rodriguez won six out of seven of the races in their division, with Robbins taking all four of the races in which he skippered. Bill Saltonstall and Jim Parker, co-skippering in the second division, also gained first places.

In addition to the Crimson squad, Coast Guard, in second place, and Holy Cross, in third place, qualified to go on to the New England area finals.

The weather was quite conducive to racing early in the afternoon, but the medium winds gradually increased as the day wore on.

In another regatta on Saturday, the Crimson placed second in the M.I.T. Quadrangulars. M.I.T. won the contest for the Geiger Trophy, while Boston University and Coast Guard placed third and fourth respectively.

Saltonstall took top honors in the 110 class, winning all four heats. Parker raced in the Firefly class.
