"Students for Humphrey," the first undergraduate group in the nation to support Senator Hubert H. Humphrey for the Presidency, will hold its organizational meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Sever 31.

"We are counting on Senator Humphrey's natural appeal to young people, who are tired of the confused and faltering government they have known since 1952," Samuel H. Smith '59, president of the group, said Monday. A. Sprague Coolidge '15, lecturer on Chemistry, and H. Stuart Hughes, professor of History, are the Faculty advisors of the group, which is open to all undergraduates and graduates at Harvard and all Radcliffe students.

Smith commented that students, both at Harvard and at other colleges, are seeking a man who can lead the United States with "ideas and not slogans, decisions and not doubt." He praised Humphrey's "vigorous approach to both foreign and domestic policies," saying it was welcomed by young men and women in a society "weakened by seven years of inadequate government."
