Freshman Lacrosse Plays Opener Today

Opening its season today, the Freshman lacrosse team will meet Governor Dummer in a contest on the Business School field at 3 p.m.

Since only seven of the 26 men on the Yarding squad had played the game before practice began a week ago, the team will suffer from lack of depth, especially at midfield. In a scrimmage Monday against the varsity, however, the Yardlings showed surprising strength. Attack-man Woody Spruance, midfielder Walt Arensburg, and Defenseman Henry Field will be the leading starters at their positions.

The Governors, of South Byfield, are expected to come to Cambridge with a squad just as strong as last year's excellent one. The game, however, will not be the most challenging contest of the season for the Yardlings, since they will face a number of other teams that are considerded stronger.
