Denis D. Barber '60, has been arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident yesterday afternoon in Boston. A detective who witnessed the accident claimed that Barber struck a pedestrian and then fled.

The witness, who had been waiting for a red light, told police he pursued Barber several blocks before forcing him to the curb at the intersection of Charles and Boylston Streets.

Robert Stevens, the victim, was crossing a one-way thoroughfare near the Statler Hotel when Barber struck him, police said. According to their report, Barber was going in the wrong direction.
