Ten Freshmen Will Occupy Rooms In Renovated Thayer North Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The new Thayer North will officially open today, as ten Freshmen move into the dorm's entirely remodeled suites. The program of renovation, which may extend to other Yard buildings, began last fall.

Because of the unavoidably late opening date, only nine commuters and one resident have applied to live in Thayer North's 48 available spaces for the remainder of the year. At one time the College had hoped to house a major portion of the '62 forced commuters in the rooms.

Corporation officials who inspected the refurbished suites on Monday were "quite pleased" with the "very remarkable job of renovation," according to Arthur D. Trottenberg '48, Manager of Operating Services. A member of the Corporation noted with satisfaction last night that the project was well within its budget.

Officers to Meet

Officers of the Corporation, which provided the $100,000 needed to redecorate Thayer, will meet within the next two weeks to consider plans for redecorating other Freshman dorms, possibly along the same principles as Thayer.
