Rita Hayworth sent a word of thanks yesterday to the Lampoon for its award to her as the "worst motion picture actress of 1958."
Upon hearing of her winning the annual 'Poon prize, the actress sent a telegram from Durango, Mexico, where she is on location for a forthcoming film. "A harpoon from the Lampoon," she said, "is a collegiate accolade. I shall treasure the distinction always. I hope all of you pass your examinations."
The winner of the "worst" actor award for the third straight year, Kirk Douglas, acknowledged the dubious honor last week. He asked that the grotesque trophy be "sent prepaid, please."
