Rocket Society Gains College's Recognition

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Official recognition was granted by the University to the Harvard Rocket Society at a meeting of the Faculty Committee on Student Affairs last week.

The purpose of the society, as stated in its constitution, is "to provide a center for rocket research and experimentation." For this spring, the club plans a series of discussion groups to be led by various local profesors. They also plan the construction and static testing of a rocket.

Faculty advisors to the society are Arthur E. Bryson, associate professor of Mechanical Engineering, and Francis M. Pipkin, assistant professor of Physics.

Membership in the club will be opened from the student government association and Francis R. Brown, Dean of Residents, to Radcliffe students if approval is gained allowing them to serve for a long time.
