The controversial proposal to put a 40-acre real estate development on a platform over the Charles River Basin will be discussed at a hearing in the Gardner Auditorium of the State House this morning at 10 a.m.

Supporters of the bill argue that it would provide an important addition to Cambridge's tax base.
