Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The varsity hockey team showed the Brown squad Saturday night how to look alternately like a group of strangers playing together for the first time and a polished, precision unit. All in all, the Crimson didn't quite outshine the men from Providence as much as its 6-1 victory would seem to indicate.
More exciting news around Watson Rink, however, was the freshman team's 17-1 devastation of its Bruin counterpart. The Yardlings' 11th victory in 12 games was paced by Bob Howe, Tom Heintzman, and Dave Grannis, each of whom scored four goals. Everyone on the team but the two goalies tallied at least one point in what was decidedly a "team effort."
Although the verdict of the main attraction was never in doubt after Bud Higginbottom's first goal at 0:45 of the first period, the varsity managed to commit its usual quota of lapses at the points and in front of the goal. Against teams of Brown's calibre the Crimson can get away with handing out breaks--most of the time.
Just such a break enabled the Bruins to spoil Harry Pratt's shutout on a breakaway at 11:10 of the third period, although the goalie blocked two shots from point-blank range before the third one counted.
Greg Downes atoned for his miscue on the breakaway by playing another, rugged game. He scored the Crimson's third goal at 19:10 of the second period. Two other goals in the second period were scored by Dick Fischer and Crocker Snow.
In the third period Bud Higgenbottom and Dick Reilly scored for the varsity.
